Are you being prejudicial with your social media users?

If someone you kind of know messages you randomly, you probably have a gut reaction about that person based on the social platform.

The words Social Media have arrows around it pointing to icons: Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, Clubhouse, TikTok, Google etc

You’re still a good person but your first thought might be:

Twitter (millennial — who doesn’t watch the news)

Instagram (elder millennial or SALES BOT)

Facebook (Are you a cousin or grandparent I haven’t spoken to in a while?)

LinkedIn (I don’t remember at which pre-Covid conference I met you but please please please hire me someday)

Pinterest (I wonder how much of their spouse’s money they’re willing to spend today)

Youtube (AI has gotten completely out of hand when the videos are contacting YOU!)

ClubHouse (I not into 1920’s talk radio — plus everyone has terrible reception)

TikTok (what grade are they in?)

JUDGING MUCH?

It’s not that you’re a bad person.

Most people try their best to be a good human being. But the marketer in you may start thinking differently after you start your business.

You begin to see people as their demographic: what are their interests — what’s their income?

Are they my target demographic or are they wasting my time.

Being a business owner makes you more brutal. You go from mindlessly scrolling to having an objective. You stop seeing people for who they are and they’ll just become precious time you are spending until your next deadline.

Remember in your journey to entrepreneurship to make time for others in a smart and healthy way.

They say you never know who your next customer is. But most importantly, you never know who knows your mom — and they will tell her that you were mean to them!

No matter what your preferred platform, if you’re on this journey to one day work for yourself and are looking for a community of people to rally behind you and support you — follow all the socials @seedandlegacy…
